When everything doesn’t happen for a reason

The phrase which I hear the most in the spiritual world when I explain my childlessness (or anything else for that matter) is:

Everything happens for a reason… and it is also the phrase which I despise the most.

What was the reason for a previous relationship to turn abusive once I was pregnant and subsequently had to terminate the pregnancy for my and the baby’s future?

What was the reason for the dismissal of our life during the adoption process?

What was the reason for my childhood to be full of the control and narcissism tendencies of my mother?

What was the reason for my boyfriends not to commit to me… but then go ahead and marry the next women after me?

What was the reason for always feeling like an outsider and that I didn’t belong?

What was the reason for… what was the reason for...

Sometimes there is no reason. Things happen, life happens.

Sometimes the reason is ‘this is life’. We live through experiences. We learn, we grow, we progress, and ultimately we decide on how to move forward.

My wish for us all is not to look for reasons in everything, but to continue to live life.
