Frequently asked questions about World Childless Week
About the WCW and the team
Who founded World Childless Week?
Stephanie Phillips had the idea for World Childless Week in 2017. With the help of numerous childless bloggers and members of several online childless support groups, Steph got this online event going.
Who is the World Childless Week for?
It's for anyone who is childless despite their longing to be a parent because they have never been pregnant (for any reason), not carried full term or have suffered the sadness of a baby born sleeping. All our Champions and founder Steph, represent our audience.
How can I join the World Childless Week community?
You can be part of our community in many ways. We hope to make the World Childless Week website the "go-to" online directory for all things childless. We already have a growing list of Support Groups, Social Groups, Bloggers and events. Businesses can also be part of our community but we do charge a small fee for your listing. Please get in touch and let's see if we can support each other. Champions are invited by Steph.
What about data and GDPR?

No, that's not necessary but if you have one you'd like to share please send with your article. Please always make sure you have permission from the photographer or person/s in the photo to send to us, in other words, we can’t accept images from Google searches as this is against global copyright laws. You can find a photo on image sites like Unsplash or Pixabay if you wish, just let us know the photographer’s name or website if you can.
How many words can I write?
We suggest 500-800 words because this is best for web content and UX. Bullet pointing is really helpful to keep attention. Walk In Our Shoes has a great list of writing tips for websites from blog writers. No one has to be a professional writer or artist. Depending on the amount of submissions we cannot guarantee that everything submitted will be used, but everything has an equal chance. Please follow our daily themes.
Can I submit a video?
Absolutely! Our website loves video. Just send a link from Youtube, Vimeo or your Facebook Live video code (learn how to get your Facebook video code here and send us the Full Code Example). If you want to get involved in a Facebook Live or generally don't mind being filmed then get in touch.
I never write, I don't have a blog, can I be involved?
Yes you can, in fact we'd really love you to be involved! We hope the majority of posts will be from people who do not write blogs. This will help to give people who do not normally speak out a chance to have their voice heard.
To make the most of our media contacts and leverage the content which make our voices heard, we ask that your contributions are exclusive to World Childless Week and your personal blog.
