Details of the Write to Heal Workshops:

Writing was a process which helped Bindi to release her emotions during the immense grief from childlessness. It is a wonderful way of getting trapped and hidden emotions out. In the workshop, Bindi will guide you in a meditation to access this inner part of you holding on to these emotions. From this deep part, words can come up to the surface and be written down as your release. Bindi has prompts to guide you, and after the writing there is grounding and sharing of insights (sharing is always optional and without judgement).

Safe spaces are important and this workshop is specifically for childless not by choice, childless by circumstance. It is important to feel comfortable as you move inward into those parts which have been hidden for so long. Your writing may be focused on your childless grief, or you may focus on other aspects of your life needing more ease and healing.

Writing is a huge part of Bindi's healing journey. When she was in the depth of her childless grief, she wrote words which later became poetry - often waking up in the middle of the night and simply writing and writing. She later realised that this writing was her healing - it was a way of allowing her emotions out. For more information, please see https://www.bindishah.com/poetry/

The workshop is an ideal space to do some writing for World Childless Week as you will be with others who understand your journey, and that is a powerful connection for writing about your childlessness.

Testimonials from previous workshops:

A very supportive atmosphere. Bindi has a very calming presence and a great voice for meditation. We were also given plenty of time for writing and were provided with prompts in case we struggled. If you are not sure about coming, just give it ago. There is nothing to be nervous about. You don’t have to have your camera on or speak if you don’t want to and you don’t have to share if you don’t feel like it. Everyone in the group said they would like to come again, which should give you an idea of how good it is! L.W

I loved the way, as students, we were encouraged to set forth our intention at the beginning of the class. I believe that by thinking about what I hoped to accomplish during the meditation and writing, which for me was simply to be open to what my soul wanted to show me, I was able to connect with those deeper, more painful aspects of my life which I had previously been avoiding. Unlike other writing workshops I’ve participated in, I love that The Write to Heal Workshop was a safe space with other childless women and that it began with a guided meditation. I believe the meditation was the catalyst I needed to be able to start honestly confronting my grief, and the writing prompts gave me the tools and space to work with all that came to the surface during the meditation. D.H

You absolutely don’t need to be a ‘writer’ to enjoy this workshop and you are likely to come away with pleasant surprises! S.A
