Is it Possible to Move Forward?

Is it possible to move forward?

YES!  FACT!  Using creativity and the healing arts help process:- feelings, goodbyes and even support bringing in new hellos - all with kindness and much gentleness. It is completely possible to move forwards after losing the ability to have children and a family. To even grow in self esteem and confidence as a person without children, living a life of abundance.  For me some of the ingredients have been the healing arts, a person who listened without judgement and a loving community.

I have a question to ask: What do you reach for when you feel lost in grief?

Social media? Work? Wine? Everyone deals with pain differently but for me, and the women I've worked with, it's now a pen or a paintbrush. Over the years I realised that social media doesn't really distract me, in fact it often makes it all worse. Work is just a place to hide and the feelings never really go away. And wine? Well we all know how unhelpful that is. But my paintbrush and pen don't distract me. They don't lie to me. They don't hurt me. They give me the space to be with my feelings, to explore and not hide. To accept and not pretend.

You don't have to be an artist to benefit from the healing arts. You just have to be prepared to reach for the pen.

In the webinar I will be talking and facilitating a workshop on how to start turning toward using the healing arts and how to move forward from loss and grief.

This workshop is for the beginner, for those of you who know the healing arts intimately and all of those in-between.

Helen Segal - England

Empowered Childlessness

Helen is an Arts Counsellor who works with people struggling to embrace a childless or childfree life.

She knows the devastation of failed fertility treatments and each month seeing that dream of a family not come true.

Using her training, experience and empathy, she creates safe spaces to talk and express difficult emotions, which can get stuck due to society’s unhelpful attitudes and denial of this pain and transition.

She helps and supports people to start living and embracing their childlessness and themselves through the power of arts, with love and kindness.
