This is just one of the reasons why I think being a stepparent can be very difficult at times.
This just happened on August 12th 2023.
Just a quick background. I’ve been married to my wife for 38 years. She has two grown children (boy, girl). Each of them have two kids. Her daughters son and his wife are having their second.
On the 12th her daughter stop over. She’s sitting in the living room with my wife as I walk in and hear her saying to my wife, “she’s going to have the baby this week they’re going to do a c-section”.
I said who’s having a kid? Her daughter said “Heather” (her sons wife). I said, nobody told me they were going to have another baby. The room got very quiet, and I walked out. I just want to add that my wife’s health isn’t well without getting into things, so I don’t blame her for not saying anything. I walked back in a few minutes later and her daughter said to me that she was sorry she didn’t say anything and it wasn’t intentional.
In a nine month period she never thought to say something? I’m very sure her father knew from the beginning.
