Open Wave

Rosalyn

Since the start of my journey in coming to terms with accepting my childlessness, I've used watercolour painting as a means of healing my soul. There is something about watching the watercolour come to life, shape itself and grow on the page, and my interaction with that, which I find incredibly special - as if I am still able to take part in creation. The act of painting has been so calming for me, allowing me just to exist in the moment and explore my feelings. Painting has played a huge role in helping me process everything around my childlessness and start to move forwards.

This work 'Open Wave' is a reflection of the fact that the circle of life has, unfortunately, been broken open with me, but also of me accepting that and still seeing beauty in it. Part of my Plan B has involved me recently moving to live near the sea and becoming more connected with the rhythms of nature again - something else which I also wanted to capture in this wave form.
