Walking in the nature really helped us literally move forward, we actually thought that we were OK, we had done a lot of talking, and reevaluating and I really valued support from Gateway women for instance, and were moving forward. But without realising we had accepted that lots of everyday things would always feel bittersweet for us.
One day we were walking in the sunshine and just looking out over the beautiful Sussex downs and looking at each other and felt a sense of pure uncomplicated joy.
It was only when we felt it again we realised how much we missed it. It happened by increments but that moment of realisation was when we really began to move forwards and embrace life as it was, not how we'd wished it was. Still feel sad at times, but feel able to engage wholeheartedly with the world again.
