Unforgettable Woman

When all seems lost and the world has seemingly forgotten you…

I see you,

I hear you,

I feel your pain.

You will never be forgotten by me.

Because I am YOU.

I am the woman who hears silence in a crowded room.

Because there is no sound where love used to lay.

Only echoes of heartache.

I am the woman who is drowning but no one knows.

She smiles and laughs and pretends to be whole.

I am the woman who always stands on the outside looking in.

Never a part of the inner circle, never fitting in.

When did the word woman become synonymous with mother?

I may never be

a mother,

a mom,

a creator of life.

But I am a human being who deserves to be seen, valued, and praised just the same.

Do not forget me,

for I have lived.

Without child.

Without motherhood.

Yet still…

An Unforgettable Woman.
