Sandra McNicol was born in Perth, Scotland, but her adventurous spirit has led her to various parts of the world. She lived in London and Amsterdam, spent a year traveling across South America, and finally settled in Barcelona, Spain, in 2008. Sandra has a deep passion for travel, having visited over 60 countries, including Antarctica. She is also a devoted dog lover with a fluffy family of three dogs and enjoys discovering new cuisines.
Sandra is the founder of Childless.Life. She is an ICF Coach, holds a Master's in the Psychology of Coaching, and a Postgraduate in Grief Therapy. Her journey to becoming permanently childless, not by choice, like many, has been deeply layered. Sandra faced numerous obstacles, including difficulties finding a life partner, freezing her eggs, enduring multiple losses, and experiencing failed IVF treatments. The experience of becoming permanently childless not by choice left her feeling lost, alone, and empty.
A turning point in her healing journey came when she discovered World Childless Week, where she realised she wasn’t alone. This connection inspired her to support others facing similar challenges. In 2020, she began hosting support calls, which led to the creation of Childless.Life. Sandra now provides individual grief therapy, leads Healing Horseshoes (grief circles with ceremonies and workshops), and helps women find new purpose and fulfillment through her Embracing Us community. Sandra understands how difficult this journey can be and offers empathetic, non-judgmental support based on her own lived (and ongoing) experience.
