Marilyn Rose Brown
What’s the hurry?
Where’s the worry?
You’ve got too much to think about.
Forget the fear, forget the doubt.
Put it on stop
Forget fast forward
Don’t hit pause
Be kind, don’t rewind
Just press stop
Forgive yourself for hurting.
There’s not much to explain.
Wonder who will save you?
You can learn from the pain.
Put it aside.
Let compassion be your guide.
Just press stop
Don’t think about your fate.
It has a map, it has a date.
Don’t keep looking for the key.
Think, “someone will remember me.”
Just press stop
Use your free will.
Time can stand still.
Find some comfort.
You deserve it.
Put it on stop
Then let it play:
Fast or slow
Sad or happy
Long or short
Loud or soft
The music will sing
And so will you.
