I am an African- American woman who served her country, trained to protect, honor, and serve others. Military service involves significant personal sacrifices, whether it’s your health, time with family, or experiencing strenuous conditions under extreme circumstances. Having married later in life and after serving my country. My husband and I were unable to conceive children after several attempts. Facing infertility issues, PCOS, fibroids and partial hysterectomy. My dreams of bearing children had come to an end.
God states in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (NIV). My faith in God allow me to facing fears, let go, and asking for help through counseling. I spent next few years focusing on self-improvement (emotional, physical, and spiritual) and pursuing educational endeavors. I obtained a master’s in communications, paralegal certification, and started a small notary business. While also spending countless hours with God through prayer and supplication. I can tell you that Faith in God moved me to complete goals.
This in turn helped me align with God’s desire for my life and not on the acceptance of man. My decisions in life involve loving myself completely, which allows me to love what God has placed in my life. I am now okay with not being the “normal woman” or having “normal woman experiences in life.” I am so much more with God. I am a warrior! I have faced many tribulations but still stand strong.
Thirteen years of marriage to loving husband, two fur babies, and a beautiful place to call home. I can tell you that love has the power to heal. Love is a blessing. Love is in action. Not being able to have children doesn’t mean you are unworthy. That you have to feel less than, or feel like you don’t have purpose. You are God-designed and wonderfully made! Continue to dream!
