Our Voices: I am Worthy, You are Worthy, We are Worthy

Bindi & the Meditation Group

This year’s group submission by participants of the meditation classes for childless not by choice, is a recording of voices.

I wanted to create a piece about how worthy we all are, regardless of our childless life journey. We are all worthy. Hearing voices, different voices, saying the words of worthiness seemed like such a beautiful thing to create.

I gave the participants two prompts to use for the group piece:

Prompt 1: We have been doing a lot of letting go recently in classes. I wanted to know which experiences around their childlessness, they were ready to release now.

Our stories are so layered, with different aspects. I know with my own story, there are parts of my childlessness which are more private to me, and parts which I am more comfortable about voicing out.

I wanted the participants to reflect on the parts of their childlessness which are less spoken about, perhaps the parts they have hidden; or not said out aloud yet.

Reflecting on their emotions around that – the guilt, regret, anger, bitterness, sadness, and so many other emotions; and then reflecting on the parts which are ready now to be released.

There had already been a lot of letting go in classes recently, and this felt like a continuation of that letting go energy within an understanding and compassionate space.

Prompt 2: This second prompt is always about a coming together. Connecting with themselves, and each other. How they see themselves now, and how they see each other.

How do they see themselves now, perhaps a few years on from the initial realisation of childlessness. How do they see each other in the classes, as they form connections, and friendships.

There was also some beautiful reflection on the childless community, and the healing power of coming together.

In the classes, we have different, and layered reasons for childlessness. I wanted to include as many different aspects into the piece that I could. We also have those who are new to their childlessness, and those who are further along in their realisation journey. It is so wonderful how we all come together.

I received everyone’s sentences, and along with my own sentences, recorded them with the energy of the whole group.

At the end of classes, those who wanted to participate were recorded saying ‘I am worthy, you are worthy, we are worthy.’ Voicing out those sentences, and being witnessed by others, was incredibly powerful.

I brought together the sentences which I had recorded, and added their spoken sentences, in the editing process. It has all come together in an audio recording, which I would love for you to listen to.

Being able to create this group piece is always so special. Listen, reflect, and move into your own worthiness.
