This wasn't the Plan

Bournemouth,

Though across the room, there is a couple with a baby,

That is where I saw my place,

the choice ripped away by circumstances,

It is beautiful to be by the sea,

I am with the family, but not with our children,

triggers, trauma, tears, trepidation,

My womb was taken away.

This was the end of my journey.

When I see the baby and its parents, I feel both joy and sadness,

Sparkles, stars, and satisfactions of the heart, I had hoped,

The reality dawns: this is not the life that I chose,

It was ripped away by circumstances not in my control,

I had to walk to a different destination,

It was the end of my journey,

Life feels empty.

Grief does not end,

There are always reminders of what could have been,

should have been, ought to have been.

those parents across the room with their baby,

This wasn’t the plan -circumstances ripped away our choice.
