The co-custodians of the forest are here

AW

We are the co-custodians of the forest

Birthed to us by Mother Earth herself

See the brave army of childless warriors assemble

Watch as we gather; aligned, attuned, adaptive

our army curls its way through the forest floor

we shape

we shift

we are not hollow

others disbelieve this band of sisters can have the qualities for this task

others feel relieved we can take the wheel - they already feel they carry too much

"Let them" say the breastfeeding mothers "I am too tired. Wake me when it's done"

The childfull holdback; ready to swoop in and claim the last glorious goal.

Claim the crowded podium they work so hard for and jostle to own

The barren sisters gather

these slings and arrows they are used to

they share a glint in their eye

a shared peripheral vision

they don't need a fanfare to announce their arrival

their confidence grows in their numbers

see them rise from under the moss blankets and sleepy hollows

holding their flag high

no challenge too great

no doubts overwhelm them

they already know there is no glory in a perceived pecking order

with their ruminating hands they gather pace through the forest

they appear like nimble deer in the hedgerows

picking their way to higher ground

Their shredded flag is noble and stoic

It leads the way

A siren call for others

The rightful custodians of the forests have arrived

We are here now

We feel no need to turn back

Marvel at our power and Grace

The forest is safe now
