A Precious Life

Our lives are full of stories: Short and long ones, sad and happy ones, heavy and light ones.
And everyone likes to tell stories, share their stories with their loved ones.
Because only if you share them, will they come alive again.
Yet only if you pass them on to the next generation, might they continue to live on … at least for a bit.

With whom will I be able to share my stories?
Who will listen to my song?
In whose memory will my life live on?
Who will remember me once I’ll be gone … at least for a bit?

I fear no one.
But then: Does it matter?
Will my life have been less worthy, less precious, less unique, if no one, not even a single person remembers it?
I guess not.
