A somatic workshop exclusively for women who are childless not by choice.
The grief of childlessness is not always only about the child we did not have. It can also bring us into contact with something much older: our own experience of being mothered, the connection we received, and the connection we may have longed for.
In this gentle, experiential workshop, I will introduce a somatic exercise to explore the in-utero experience from the perspective of the child. Through attention to bodily sensations, we will engage in an embodied and imaginative exploration, of how connection might be experienced differently—not as a replacement for motherhood, but as a way of opening space for love, creativity, belonging and a sense of wholeness beyond the child we longed for.
Why participate? Because understanding grief intellectually is sometimes not enough. The body can hold emotions and experiences that we have never found words for. By slowing down and listening to the body, we may discover something new about our longing, our patterns and what we need now.
