I have spent many years grieving, and I still am. My writing has been an important tool for expressing the emotions within. I was published in the Bournemouth library after I volunteered at the Bournemouth Writing Festival. It was such a privilege to have a piece on childlessness on display.
A legacy isn’t just about having a baby; I feel I am trying to make a difference in the world with my words to raise awareness of childlessness. I visited the library and took a selfie, in gratitude for seeing how far I have come. To also acknowledge how incredibly difficult it is to find a different way to live life. I have had to recover myself, and I feel I am worthy to feel part of society, that I can create changes and be something. Not “just because” I am a mother or a parent, but as a writer.
