I Am Enough

I am Single and Childless; I am enough

I life alone; I don’t get lonely

I turn up alone; I am brave

I get sick; I’m learning to ask for help

I have a mortgage; I am responsible

I have a niece and nephew; I know love

I have never been married; I had a fabulous 40th celebration

I have pets; I am not selfish

I have been partnered; I love my own company

My family are overseas; my chosen family surround me

I’ve been heartbroken; I buy myself flowers

I don’t know who will look after me when I’m old; I’m making plans

I have never given birth; I have birthed many projects

I have had a miscarriage; I am a survivor

I am nearly 50; I have big stories

I have no one to pass knowledge onto; I mentor in all facets of my life
