Bibi is a journalist, writer and broadcaster. She is also childless not by choice. (The reasons? ‘Life’ meant she didn’t meet a partner; ‘life’ also meant she couldn’t try to have a baby on her own. ‘Social infertility’ they call it. Hot.)
Bibi has written about the unjust - and often unrecognised - childless/childfree experience for over a decade — railing, swearily, against pronatalism and its ‘worshiping at the altar of motherhood’ impact on society.
‘I’m proud to be a World Childless Week Ambassador. Not having a child - and experiencing that extraordinary (disenfranchised… Thank you for expressing this, Jody Day) grief in this dismissive, bigoted, ‘As a mother’ world - is the worst thing that ever happened to me. But I know how important finding your tribe - people you can grieve and rage and heal with - is — and World Childless Week brings our tribe together.’
