Childless Grief
Childless grief
Can you take them,
these feelings that sit on my chest.
Stop them weighing me down,
so I can take a rest.
Can you hold them,
just for a little while.
Take the weight of them from me,
so I can find my smile.
Can you drown in them,
whilst I gasp to get some air.
My head, barely above water,
surely it's only fair?
Can I share it with you,
this grief I have to feel.
It's too heavy for me on my own,
I need some time to heal.
My mothers response to ‘Childless grief’.
I can help
take the weight from your chest.
Lean on me
breathe and take a rest.
I can hold you
for as long as you need.
Help to take the weight
help your smile be freed.
I will drown in them
let you breathe the air.
Lift you above the waves
care not an ounce for fair.
Will you share with me
the grief you have to feel.
Don’t struggle on your own
please let me help you heal.
