Childless Perks!! is a light hearted place for those who are Childless NOT By Choice, to smile and have a giggle sharing the perks we are discovering as we travel the path of acceptance. It doesn't mean that we've changed our mind about wanting to have been a parent, but it does mean we can see through the clouds.

Enjoying a sleep-in or a nap with no interruptions.
Being spontaneous in where you can go and what you get to do.
Being able to spend money on lifelong dreams.
Being able to eat and drink whatever and whenever you like without the food/drinks needing to be kid-friendly.

Hot air balloon festival. Being able to run all over the park to get photos without worrying about losing children.
Went to the van Gogh immersion show in New York.
Cooking up a fancy fish meal from scratch on a weeknight - definitely adults only as it was quite spicy!
Enjoying fun at the offlead park with my furbabies Chewie and Lucy.
Randomly dropping into a foodhall to eat ice cream and drink beer on a hot day, without having to think about the time I need to be home by.
Climbing Snowdon at night without once having to consider anyone else.

These fluff balls give me so much joy on a daily basis.
Travel, from when we could (and hopefull will in the future). Without the costs of raising children I have been able to save to travel overseas a number of times. I have had great adventures and explored other cultures. I have also met wonderful people and formed some good friendships out of my trips.

Going back to school at 31 to earn a Bachelor of Music, a Masters in Music Education, and a PhD in Music Education, and travelling nationally and internationally to present my research that focuses on infertility, childessness, and singing.
In the few gaps of freedom in this year's lockdown in Melbourne, I managed to enjoy one of my favourite #childlessperks ie getting my nails done!

This was when we could travel with no Covid lurking around…. I’m from Australia it was an amazing trip.
