My Heart in Bloom

After our failed embryo transfers and the decision to move forward as a childless couple, I felt the need to commemorate our experience and have a place of remembrance.

After a few fallow years, this year, the rose bush I planted bloomed again and the roses have changed from yellow to white. To see them bloom again after the love and care given to them brought me so much joy. But it was also a wonderful reminder that we don’t always get what we expect, but it can still be beautiful if we are patient.

I am starting to see that my legacy is what I chose it to be and has led me to decide I am going to start planting trees locally. In years to come, the will provide food and shelter to animals and a place for shade and rest. They will be for the benefit of everyone. They will be my gift to the future.
