Dis-inherited
Lilian Chudey Pride
Have you ever been forbidden to enter your family house where you grew up? Or been told never to make reference or lay any claim to your portion of family land? Well, these can be considered the least of the challenges I and my husband faced with his parents and siblings because of childlessness.
Being childless in Africa comes with pain, shame and stigma that seem so difficult to handle. We were dehumanized and told that our circumstance is a disgrace to them and therefore, not entitled to anything related to them.
The positive side of the miss-treatment we received and injustices we suffered from my in-laws is that we made it the propeller/propelling force driving our togetherness and energy to prosper in all our endeavors.
