Pride
I stand flag in hand to show my pride
That’s not the part of me that’s been denied
Childless not by choice
LGBTQIA+ I could hide that voice
With this though I do have a choice
A minority within a minority
Which letter represents me?
Does it matter?
When I’ve discovered the letters CNBC
I hate that word infertility
As I struggle with my own reality
Trying to keep the grief at bay
All those years wasted away
Has bought me here today
Into this space
I’ve read about this comparison
CNBC and LGBTQIA+
Coming out – I want to shout
Please don’t ask me that
Do you have children?
Where’s the flag I fly for that?
Can I find pride inside of my pain?
Can’t even say their names
My unborn children
As I think of you
Maybe you’re in the rainbow too
I’d be proud I know I would
As you stand flag in hand to show your pride.
