You’re Just A Dream

Guy W. Stoker

I am a pianist, composer, and singer/songwriter from Northumberland, UK. I lived with epilepsy for many years, and this was one of the factors which led to me not becoming the father I always so wanted to be. The song You’re Just A Dream, is my voice to these longings and regrets.

PLEASE NOTE: The following video has images that may be triggering

I always thought, that you’d come into my life,

And brighten my day, with every smile.

I thought I’d be, the greatest father,

The one who would go, the extra mile.

But I guess was wrong, I guess I’ll never know,

I’ll never see the sparkle in your eyes.

I’ll just have to live, thinking what could have been,

With the tears of joy I’ll never get to cry.

I wonder what, your beautiful name would be?

And I wonder what, I’d see you do?

I picture the things, we’d see together,

And the wonder inside your eyes of China blue.

I’d sing you a song, to help you sleep at night,

And tell you everything will be alright.

Then I wake to find, that you were just a dream,

And you disappear when I turned out the light.

(Instrumental Break)

You’re just a dream, you’re just a dream.

You’re just a dream, you’re just a dream.
