You’re invited to an evening of conversation with the author of ‘Motherhood Missed; Stories from Women who are Childless by Circumstance’, and the celebration of its New Zealand launch.
Circumstantially childless women are those who saw themselves as having a biological child at some point in their lives, but find themselves at the end of their fertility without becoming a mother, because life didn’t work out that way for them.
The author Dr Lois Tonkin is a writer, counsellor, and lecturer at the University of Canterbury. She interviewed women in New Zealand, Australia, the USA, and England, and collected and edited their first person stories for this book, which was published in the UK/US by Jessica Kingsley Publishers during World Childless Week 2018.
The author will read an excerpt from her book and talk about it in an open discussion.
